SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team saw five of their players – Caleigh Enax, Madi Parrish, Adeline Ortman, Evelyn Torres, and Demi Carter – receive all-region honors from a pair of organizations in the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) as well as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Additionally, Carter was named the South Central Region Freshman of the Year, and head coach Chuck Waddington was named the South Central Region Coach of the Year.

This marks Waddington's first AVCA South Central Region Coach of the Year award since 2015. Earlier this season, he eclipsed the 400-win mark in his career. At Angelo State, he has coached 32 AVCA All-Region players.

All five players earned AVCA First Team All-Region honors. The Rambelles are only one of two Division II schools with five AVCA first-teamers, joining Wingate in doing so.

From the D2CCA, Enax earned First-Team All-Region honors, while Parrish, Ortman, and Torres earned Second-Team All-Region honors.

The five all-region selections are the most ever for the Belles in a single season. This is the first all-region plaudits for all five student-athletes.

Carter, an All-LSC Honorable Mention and LSC All-Freshman Team selection, is the third player in program history to earn honors for region freshman of the year. The Marketing student is one of six Belles to play in all 30 matches this season and leads the team with a .304 attack percentage. She averages 0.78 blocks per set. She had four matches with ten or more kills, two of which came in the LSC Tournament as she was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Enax, the 2024 LSC Libero of the Year, averages 5.24 digs per set, second in the LSC, and has climbed into the top ten in program history in digs. The Exercise Science senior has 1,524 career digs, which ranks sixth all-time and fifth in the rally-scoring era (since 2001). Additionally, her 89 career aces are tenth in the rally-scoring era.

Parrish, a First Team All-LSC selection, is second in the LSC in kills and points per set. The Business student turned in a career-high 25 kills in the Belles' LSC Semifinal win over UT Tyler, where she was eventually named the tournament MVP.

Ortman, the 2024 LSC Academic Player and Setter of the Year, leads the LSC and is ranked seventh in the country in assists, with 11.64 per set. She also ranks eighth in the LSC in aces per set. The MBA graduate student was named to the LSC All-Tournament Team and has recorded a personal best of 1,176 assists this season. Ortman's arrival at Angelo State has also seen the Belles' attack percentage rise 21 points from last season.

Torres, also a First Team All-LSC selection, is third in the LSC in points and fourth in kills per set. She has four matches with 20 or more kills and three matches with 20 or more digs and has recorded 14 double-doubles this season. The graduate student, who is pursuing a master's degree in Global Security Systems, has recorded 1,180 career kills and 780 digs.

The Belles are 28-2 on the season and open the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. when they host Colorado Christian in the opening round inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena.
