Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Rambelles Tennis Sweep the Weekend With a 6-1 Win Over Harding

Plano, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team swept the weekend with a 6-1 win over Harding Sunday afternoon.
 
Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini won on court two 6-3 against Reka Pecsi and Karli Roux. Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz won No.1 doubles to clinch the Rambelles the double point against Grace Dodd and Georgia Plunkett. The pairing of Alexandra Vishnevskaya and Ivet Stancheva would win their doubles match on a 7-6 (7-5) tiebreaker versus Madison Stafford and Alexia Zarate.
 
No.1 doubles Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz, and No. 2 Doubles Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini move to 5-0 in doubles play.
 
Letizia Corsini would get the Rambelles on the board in singles play, defeating Karli Roux at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0 to give the Belles an early 2-0 advantage.
 
Ayda Guler would be the second one to finish for the Rambelles, winning on court six 6-0, 6-2 against Natalia Alvarez, making it 3-0 in favor of the Blue and Gold.
 
Christine Jevicky would clinch the match for the Rambelles, winning 6-1, 6-1 on court four, defeating Georgia Plunkett.
 
Ivet Stancheva would fall short to Sofia Sarmiento 7-5, 6-3, giving the Bison its only point of the match.
 
Eva Schwartz would capture the fifth point for the Rambelles, winning on line 2 6-2, 5-6, 10-7.
 
Jessica Li would continue her run of form, winning her first four career singles matches, beating Madison Stafford on court three 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
 
Letizia Corsini moves to 5-0 in singles play with her 6-1, 6-0 victory.
