Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Rambelles Down Arkansas Tech 5-2

Arkadelphia, Arkansas - The Angelo State women's tennis team won their second match in the Natural State in as many days, claiming a 5-2 victory over Arkansas Tech on Saturday afternoon in Arkadelphia.
 
At No. 2 doubles, Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini would defeat Sofia Beggiatto and Madelina Amil Silva 6-1. Following the pair moves to 6-0 in doubles action.
 
Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz would fall to Melanie Griffiths and Monica Balau 6-4 at No.1 doubles.
 
Alexandra Vishnevskaya and Mieke Van Deventer would clinch the doubles point for the Rambelles, winning on a 7-6 (7-5) tiebreaker to give the Rambelles an early 1-0 advantage.
 
Christine Jevicky would give the Rambelles a dominant performance, defeating Sofia Beggiatto 6-0 in straight sets on Line four.
 
Letizia Corsini would continue her run of form by beating Madelina Amil Silva 6-1, 6-4 to move to 6-0 in singles action and to give the Rambelles a 3-0 advantage.
 
Ayda Guler would clinch the match for the Rambelles, winning on line five 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-0 against Kristyna Dvorakova to extend the Rambelles winning streak to four games for the Rambelles.
 
Eva Schwartz would fall short after a hard-fought battle to Monica Balau 6-7 (3), 6-7 (5) to give Arkansas its first point of the match.
 
Jessica li would fall short at line three, winning the first 6-2, but would drop consecutive sets 6-4.
 
Ivet Stancheva would win her second straight collegiate match, winning on line six 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4 to give the Rambelles the 5-2 victory.
 
The Rambelles play their third match in three days they take on Ouachita Baptist with first serve scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
