Tyler, Texas – The Angelo State softball team suffered their first sweep of the season on Sunday afternoon because of an 8-1 loss to No. 8 UT Tyler at Irwin Ballpark.
The lone bright spot for the Rambelles' offense was
Zoey De Baca's fifth-inning home run, her first for the Blue and Gold.
Laylonna Applin and
Averie Gunther recorded the only other hits for the Rambelles' lineup.
Torrey Hogan took her first loss of the season, allowing four hits and three runs (one earned) across 2.2 innings.
Amelia Hatthorn pitched the next 2.1 innings in relief before
Matie Wolkow threw the final inning in relief.
The Rambelles are now 15-4 on the season and 6-3 in LSC play; they stay on the road as they travel to Denton for a three-game series against Texas Woman's on Tuesday and Wednesday.
