Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

The No.12 Rambelles Defeat Sioux Falls 6-1 to Extend Winning Streak to Seven

Orlando, Florida - The No. 12 Angelo State women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory against Sioux Falls in the first match in Orlando this afternoon.
 
At No.2 doubles, Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini would defeat Sydney Osburn and Ella Hancock 6-0. The pair moves to 10-0 in doubles action with the victory.
 
Eva Schwartz and Avery Durham, the No.19th ranked pairing in the nation, would clinch the doubles point for the Rambelles, winning at No.1 doubles against Talia Janos and Chloe Siegfort 6-2.
 
At No.3 Doubles, Mieke Van Deventer and Alexandra Vishnevskaya would defeat the sister sister pairing of Alissa Thorfinnson and Danielle Thorfinnson 6-3 to move 3-0 as a pairing.
 
Ayda Guler would get things started in for the Rambelles in the singles portion as she would defeat Danielle Thorfinnson, 6-2, 6-0, at Line three to give the Rambelles a 2-1 advantage.
 
Alexandra Vishnevskaya would get the best of Jaelyn Haler by winning 6-1, 6-3 on court six and giving the Rambelles a 3-0 advantage.
 
Mieke Van Deventer would clinch the match victory for the Rambelles as she beat Ella Hancock at line five, 6-0 6-3, to give the Rambelles a 4-0 advantage.
 
Ivet Stancheva would fall at line four, 6-3, 6-4, to give Sioux Falls its first and only point of the match.
 
Eva Schwartz would get the best of Talia Janos 6-3, 6-2 to make the score line 5-1 in favor of the Rambelles.
 
Jessica Li would defeat Chloe Siegfort at No.2 singles 6-4, 6-2 to add another point for the Rambelles, making the final score line 6-1.
 
The Rambelle's next match is scheduled for 2:00 on Tuesday, March, 12th, against Emporia State.
