Lexington, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has named Angelo State volleyball's Madi Parrish as their Division II National Player of the Week for her performances last week at the LSC Challenge, the AVCA announced late this morning.

Parrish, a sophomore outside hitter from Saginaw, earns the recognition after an outstanding week in which she led the then-21st-ranked Rambelles to a pair of ranked wins over DBU and West Texas A&M, who were ranked 20^th and third last week, respectively.

Parrish, a Business major, took care of business on the court, averaging 4.63 kills per set and hitting .354. She had 15 digs and three blocks defensively. The Belles' 2-0 week saw them jump up seven spots in the AVCA Division II Top 25, moving from 21^st to 14^th.

Against the Lady Patriots, Parrish recorded her sixth-career double-double and second of the season with 14 kills and 12 digs. She hit .286 for the match, and her defensive work helped hold a potent DBU offense to a .194 attack percentage.

Facing the third-ranked Lady Buffs, Parrish turned in a career-high 23 kills and only committed four errors for a .404 attack percentage as the Belles snapped a five-match losing streak to WT. She had three blocks at the net as the Belles claimed their third-consecutive win over a ranked opponent in as many matches, the first time the Belles have done so under head coach Chuck Waddington.

Parrish is the third-ever Belle to receive honors for national player of the week, joining former Belles Kailyn Gilbreath (April 1st, 2021) and Mallory Blauser (November 8, 2016). Parrish is the first player from the LSC to receive the award since Gilbreath.

Parrish and the Belles open conference play on the road this weekend against Midwestern State and Texas Woman's.
