With the victory, Lockwood and the back line would continue their dominant form as Lockwood would extend her conference lead in shutouts with five in the last six contests and her 12th as a Rambelle after two saves in the contest.
This year at the newly renovated LeGrand Soccer Complex after every home win a player from the team will ring the new victory Bell that is located outside of the soccer complex and the first player to ring the Bell was Christiana Clark starting a new tradition in the Angelo State women's soccer program.
The Rambelles will return to action on Oct. 2
nd as they face off against St. Edward's at 7 p.m. inside the LeGrand Soccer Complex.
From Travis McCorkle: Q: Coming off a 2-0 win over TWU to start conference play how important was it to start on the right foot? "We didn't play poorly in our last two home matches we just were getting draws we couldn't find a way to get a goal. I loved our second goal it sloppy it was a mess but it was an effort goal I thought she did great to get that goal.
Q: Your offense started getting into form today creating many opportunities with a brace from Tina Clark how do you rate the performance? "I mean they did a great job I'm always challenging her to become more of a factor because I think she can be on set pieces and in the penalty area. I was really happy to see her make a difference up there this afternoon. Our attack was better this afternoon, but I think that it can still be better for us to get more chances to our forwards and wingers to score.
