SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State volleyball team opened their season with a sweep of New Mexico Highlands before falling in their nightcap to No. 23 Central Oklahoma in five sets.

Caleigh Enax became the 17
th player in program history to record 1,000 career digs.
The Belles hit .315 for the match while holding the Cowgirls to a .129 hitting clip.
Evelyn Torres led all players with 17 kills in the match, hitting .389.
Madi Parrish fell shy of a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs.
Enax led all players with 20 digs, while Torres and freshman
Sydney Thornton led the way with four blocks.
Adeline Ortman recorded 29 assists in only two sets of action.
The Bronchos took the lead early in their match against the Belles, but the hosts stormed back late in set one. Senior
Jaedyn Woolley held serve as the Belles scored the last eight points to win the set.
The Bronchos took sets two and three before the Belles bounced back to tie it at two sets apiece; despite the Belles' comeback, the Bronchos took the decisive set.
Torres recorded a 17-kill, 25-dig performance, while Parrish turned in 14 kills and eight digs.
Ortman assisted 58 times, and
Ireland Ferguson had 13 digs off the bench. Enax recorded 31 digs, crossing the 1,000-dig threshold and moving her to 16
th on the all-time digs list.
