SILVER CITY, NM - The Angelo State women's basketball team opened the 2025 calendar year with a 66-49 victory over Western New Mexico inside of Drag's Court on Friday evening.

With the win the Rambelles improve to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in Lone Star Conference action, while the Mustangs fall to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in LSC play.

- Madeline Stephens would record the first basket of 2025, after hitting a three from the top of the key.
- Majik Esquivel knocked down her first of five threes at the 8:01 marker in the first quarter giving the Rambelles a 8-0 lead.
- Esquivel went on to knock down four threes in the first quarter to give the Rambelles a 28-9 lead going into the second quarter of play.
- A layup from Chidera Ezelio at the 7:40 marker of the second quarter gave the Rambelles their first 20-point lead of the contest.
- Madi Lumsden scored the last four points of the half giving the Rambelles a ,37-22, lead heading into halftime.
- Jaelyn Morrison with 7:33 on the clock in the third quarter brought the Mustangs lead to single digits, 37-29, for the first time since the beginning of the first quarter.
- Natalie Magallnes knocked down a jumper at the buzzer to bring the Mustangs deficit to one, 46-45 heading into the final quarter of action.
- The Belles would knock down back-to-back threes from Lumsden, and Stephens to bring their lead back to double-digits, 57-45 with eight minutes remaining in the contest.
- The Rambelles went on a 20-4 run in the fourth quarter to secure the 66-49 victory.
