Rambelles Down WT 74-62 in First Home Contest of 2025

San Angelo, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team opened their home schedule with a, 74-62, victory over West Texas A&M inside the Junell Center - Stephens Arena Thursday evening. 
 
With the victory the Rambelles move to 11-3 overall, and tied for the lead with a 7-1 overall record in Lone Star Conference action. The Lady Buffs fall to 10-5 overall and 4-4 in LSC play.
 
40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
  • The Rambelles opened the game on a 6-0 run hitting on three consecutive layups from Peyton Stellato, Keniah Williams, and Madeline Stephens.
  • The Blue and Gold knocked down a three at the 2:49 marker from Addy Burns to give the Rambelles their first double-digit lead, 16-5.
  • Burns scored the first quarter's final two points, giving the Rambelles a 15-point lead, 20-5, going into the second quarter of action. 
  •  Burns would hit back-to-back threes to give the Rambelles a 30-12 lead with 4:24 remaining until halftime. 
  • The Belles went into halftime with a 32-21 lead after Kyla Kane of West Texas A&M knocked down two threes in the last minute to narrow the deficit to 11.
  • Majik Esquivel scored the Belles first six points in the second half to give them a,38-24, lead with 7:32 remaining in the third quarter of action. 
  • Madi Lumsden knocked down a three at the 2:54 marker to give the Rambelles their first 20-point lead, 50-30. 
  • A three from Esquivel gave the Rambelles a 57-34 lead going into the final quarter of action. 
  • Stellato recorded the first points of the quarter for the Rambelles extending the Rambelles lead to, 60-39.
  • An and one by Williams would be the final points in the 74-62 victory for the Rambelles over the Lady Buffs. 
 
GAME STATS
  • With the 74-62 victory the Rambelles win their 12-contest making the total series 30-12 in favor of the Lady Buffs. 
  • With the win, the Belles have won nine straight games and seven straight in LSC play. 
  • The Blue and Gold had five double-digit scorers in the contest with Burns recording 16 points, Esquivel 14 points, Williams 13 points, Stellato 12 points, and Lumsden 11 points.
  • Stellato recorded her first career double-digit scoring game recording 12 points against West Texas A&M.

  • Stephens led the game in rebounding recording 12 rebounds and five points, before being fouled out late in the fourth quarter.

  • The Rambelles shot 45 Percent (28-62) from the field, 35 percent (10-28) from behind the arc, and 88 percent (8-9) from the free throw line.
  • The Belles would get outrebounded 42-40.
  • West Texas A&M won the turnover battle 14-20.
  • The Belles record 34 of their 72 points from inside the paint.
  • The Blue and Gold haven't trailed in three contests.

The Belles will return to action on Saturday as they take on Eastern New Mexico with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
