From
Travis McCorkle: Q: You dominated the match offensively and defensively. What can you take out of this match? A: " I feel like we are understanding how to rotate in the midfield better and are understanding combination play better. I feel like we did really well with the field being very firm, so the ball was bouncier than we are used to, but I feel like we handled it well.
In the first half, we scored a goal with a flick from
Lexi Gonzales off a corner kick and then in the second half, we scored probably our best goal of the year with
Whitni Newbill sending a pass into the box, and
Jillian Greaves not being afraid of the ball, and attacked it had some power behind it. In the second half, we did better overall in everything. If we can get better with our finishing, I feel like we are going to be able to get where we want too and be able to score more goals. We had 31 shots and had 14 on goal and two goals. We need to work on finishing more and not striking right at the goalkeeper. It was a good performance for the team and the tempo of the match. This was an opportunity for us to be cleaner, and hopefully, we got better with that. Q: What can you improve upon on this match that you can take into the match against WT? A: Cleaning up our passes and putting them where we want them. If we have the opportunities, be more clinical on scoring and not kicking them right at the keeper.
