PORTALES, N.M. - The Rambelles got back in the win column as they defeated Eastern New Mexico 1-0 on Wednesday evening in Portales, New Mexico.
 
With the victory, the Rambelles improve to 7-3-4 overall and 6-2-2 in conference action. The Rambelles have not lost to Eastern New Mexico since 2014 and haven't allowed a goal to the Greyhounds since 2016. 
 
 In the first five minutes of action, Sanai Stewart would record the first shot, which ended up being saved by diving Roise Joyce Willmott.
 
In the 20th minute, the Rambelles would be rewarded with a free kick, where Christina Clark sent it into the box. Vick would cross the ball through the box, where it would connect with Lexi Gonzales' right foot, hitting the goal post and rolling to the other side of the goal before finally crossing the line to give the Rambelles an early 1-0 advantage.
 
The Rambelles would have a second really good chance as the first half drew to a close. Jillian Greaves would receive a cross that she would end up hitting the crossbar, and the ball would end up being saved by the Greyhounds goalkeeper.
 
In the Second half, the Rambelles would have 12 shot attempts not being able to execute on any of them. The Belles end up with the 1-0 victory. 
 
Melyna Martinez would end up recording her eighth shutout of the year. 
 
The Belles would have 22 shots, with 12 being on target, compared to the three shots with one being on target for the Greyhounds.
 
From Travis McCorkle: "Pleased in the second half in the way we were playing and the ideas that we had.  Our technique lets us down sometimes. The ideas we had were better than in the first half, we had 22 shots with 12 being on goal, and the result ended up being 1-0. We will need to work on our poise and technique in front of the goal.
