The No. 19 Angelo State football team will look to continue the momentum gained from last week's homecoming victory as the Rams travel to Alpine, Texas to take on Sul Ross State on Saturday, Oct. 25.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams snapped a two game skid with a 48-24 win over Midwestern State on homecoming night last Saturday.
Braeden Fuller and
Kaeden Smith were responsible for five touchdowns in total in their split time taking snaps.
Cameron Dischler went for 165 yards on 11 total touches. Special Teams shined as
Caine Elroy blocked a punt that was recovered in the endzone by
Eugene Liger for a touchdown and
Alan Dobbins picked up an onside kick attempt and took it back 45-yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Last season marked the first meeting between the Rams and Lobos since ASU's football program competed in NAIA in 1975. Fast forward to last season, the Rams routed the Lobos on homecoming night behind Fuller's 287 yards passing and the team's five total touchdowns on the ground.
SCOUTING THE LOBOS:
- The Lobos enter the weekend with a 0-7 record this season and are riding a nine-game losing streak dating back to Nov. 9 of last season.
- Most recently, SRSU traveled to Western New Mexico where they to the Mustangs in a 45-42 thriller.
- Â Sul Ross State sits in the basement of the Lone Star Conference in both team offense and team defense as the Lobos score 11.1 points per game and give up 59.6 points per game.
- Offensively, the Lobos found success last weekend against the Mustangs beginning with sophomore quarterback Kye Callicoatte who tossed for 203 yards and a touchdown combined with 77 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.
- Defensively, there are a couple of Lobos within the conference rankings of individual statistics beginning with Brendon Martin who is tied atop the LSC with 63 total tackles. Evian Thompson sits fourth with 58 tackles.

HEAD COACH PROFILE – JEFF GIRSCH
Jeff Girsch recorded his 50
th career win as head coach to open the season, becoming the fastest coach in program history to reach that milestone. He holds a career winning percentage of .769 and has been selected as the LSC Coach of the Year three times in his career, most recently in 2024. Prior to being named head coach, Girsch spent five years as the defensive coordinator for the Rams.

- The Rams are currently the fourth best offense in the LSC, averaging 33.9 points per game.
- On the other side of the ball, the defense sits in third as they give up 21.4 points per game.
- Corey Sandolph is second in the LSC in receiving touchdowns with six.

Braeden Fuller was selected as the Lone Star Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. A 2024 Harlon Hill Award Finalist and the 2024 OPOTY for the conference, Fuller led the conference in passing yards (2,318) and touchdowns (19). He also added 10 rushing touchdowns and 678 yards on the ground.
