SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team won its 12th Lone Star Conference Championship, and its second in a row, on Saturday afternoon, defeating two-seed Lubbock Christian in straight sets, 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
This is the fifth time in program history the Belles have won back-to-back conference tournament titles, last doing so in 2019 and 2020. It is the first conference tournament they have won at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena since 2016, and only the fourth conference tournament they have won in San Angelo.
This is also the third time the Belles have swept through the LSC Tournament, having done so in 1991 and 2016.
The Belles hit .242 for the match and held the Chaps to a .118 attack percentage. The Belles controlled the Chaps' offense at the net, recording ten blocks.
Madi Parrish turned in a sublime effort with 16 kills and 13 digs as she repeated as the LSC Tournament MVP for the second year in a row.
Parrish becomes the sixth player in LSC history to win multiple LSC Tournament MVPs, and only the third to do so in consecutive seasons, joining Angelo State's Gail Allison (1991-92) and West Texas A&M's Torrey Miller (2021-23).
Julia Hopkins had 12 kills, while
Cate Boldrick did not commit an error, converting seven kills from 11 swings for a .636 attack percentage.
Hannah Spencer had six kills on a .417 attack percentage and led the Belles with five blocks.
During the tournament, the junior middle recorded 12 kills on a .417 attack percentage. She also recorded 14 blocks, averaging 1.56 per set as she was named to the LSC All-Tournament Team for the second time in her career, also earning that honor in 2023.
Madison Scrivner led the Belles with 21 assists, and
Gabi Ashcraft fell shy of a double-double with 19 assists and nine digs.

Ireland Ferguson recorded nine digs and was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 4.44 digs per set.
The Belles are now 24-7 on the season and have clinched their spot in the NCAA Tournament on December 4-7. The NCAA selection show is scheduled for Monday, November 24
th, at 6:30 p.m. on ncaa.com.
