SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State football program fell to Western Oregon by a final score of 31-7 on Saturday evening as the Rams celebrated Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
The loss was the Rams' first ever against Western Oregon and dropped ASU to 6-4 overall and 4-4 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Wolves struck first, taking the opening kickoff 84 yards on a 12-play drive to score the game's first touchdown. In the second quarter, WOU intercepted a pass from
Kaeden Smith and converted it into another score. On the ensuing drive, the Wolves capitalized on a short field, starting at the Rams' 33-yard line and finding the end zone again to take a 21-point lead.
Angelo State answered late in the first half when quarterback
Braeden Fuller connected with
Trevor Winn for a 13-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 21-7. Fuller finished the night completing 13 of 30 passes for 92 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. The Rams' offense managed just 197 total yards and committed three turnovers.
The ASU defense tightened up in the second half as
Xavier Walton recorded his fifth interception of the season, holding the Wolves to 10 points after halftime. However, the Rams' offense was unable to find the end zone again as the game came to an end.
The Rams will close the 2025 regular season on the road against West Texas A&M next Saturday, Nov. 15 with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
