LAS VEGAS – The Angelo State men's basketball team closes the 2025 calendar year with a 70-59 win over Hawi'I Hilo on Sunday afternoon at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic in South Point Arena.
The Rams shot 54.2 percent from the field and made five of their 10 three-point attempts in the second half.
On defense, the Rams held the Vulcans to 39 percent shooting from the field and 21.1 percent from three. The Rams forced Hawai'I Hilo into 19 turnovers and blocked five Vulcans' shots.
Kailon Nicholls led the Rams' offense with 19 points on an efficient 6-for-9 shooting from the field, draining three of his five three-point attempts. The Canadian guard led the Rams with five assists.
Jaqai Murray scored 17 points and led the Rams with seven rebounds and three steals.
Davon Scott and
Jabbari Barry scored nine points each. Scott assisted three times and blocked a pair of shots, while Barry made three three-pointers to tally a season-high in points.
Zyon Little contributed seven points and six rebounds, and
Ashraf Barsham scored five points in his first-ever start for Angelo State.
The Rams close the calendar year with a 10-4 overall record and a 1-2 record in LSC play. They are back in action on January 2
nd when they host UT Tyler inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
