DENVER – The Angelo State volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 10 MSU Denver on Saturday evening inside the Auraria Event Center in the NCAA South Central regional final, with the Roadrunners advancing to the Elite Eight by a 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 scoreline in a rematch from last season's regional final.
The Belles' offense struggled, only hitting .081 for the match. The Roadrunners recorded 13 blocks at the net and out-dug the Belles 63-58.
Julia Hopkins led the Belles' offense with 11 kills while
Madi Parrish recorded another double-double with ten kills and 15 digs.
Gabi Ashcraft assisted 13 times while digging seven balls, and
Madison Scrivner assisted eight times and recorded ten digs.
Cate Boldrick buried five kills in her collegiate finale, while fellow senior
Ireland Ferguson recorded eight digs and assisted six times.
Boldrick finishes her career with 432 kills on a .272 attack percentage and 261 blocks. Ferguson ends with 1,061 career digs, 16
th all-time in program history, and 98 aces.
Parrish, Ashcraft, and
Demi Carter were named to the all-tournament team for their play this weekend; Parrish and Carter repeat on the all-tournament team, having earned it last season as well.
The Belles finish the season with a 26-8 overall record.
