SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team improved to 4-0 in LSC play following a sweep of Cameron on Sunday afternoon at the Mayer Softball Field. The Rambelles threw their second no-hitter of the season as they run-ruled the Aggies 8-0 in five innings in game one before finishing the day with a 5-3 win over their Sooner State opposition.
The Rambelles opened scoring in game one with a two-out rally in the first inning. With two runners on,
Ashton McMillan singled up the middle to drive in a pair of runs; McMillan would advance to second on the throw and third on the Aggies' throwing error.
Carter Smith would line a single over the second baseman's head to make it 3-0 in the first inning.
It was with two outs in the second inning when the Rambelles would strike again, courtesy of a
Tatiana Trotter single.

Zoey De Baca, and
Abby Brand would score a run in the third inning before shortstop
Blake Holtorf capped the scoring in the game with her first collegiate home run over the left field fence, a three-run shot that made it 8-0.
The Rambelles' second no-hitter of the season was a combined effort between
Cheyenne Floyd and
Bri Waters. Floyd struck out five Aggies in her four innings of work before Waters threw the final inning, striking out one batter.
The Rambelles again opened the scoring in game two in the first inning, using a walk, a single, and a fielder's choice to load the bases for McMillan, who doubled in a pair of runs.
The Aggies would tie the game in the top of the second inning 2-2.
The Rambelles responded with a two-out rally in the bottom of the inning as
Erin Plunkett drew a walk to set up
Laylonna Applin, who hit her fifth home run of the season over the left centerfield fence to make it 4-2.
The Rambelles would tack on another run in the third inning via an Aggie error with two outs.
The Aggies would pull a run back in the sixth inning but couldn't muster a comeback as the game ended 5-3.
Matie Wolkow picked up her second win of the season, throwing 4.2 innings in relief of
Amelia Hatthorn, allowing three hits and one run. Waters also threw the final inning in this game, picking up her first collegiate save as she walked one and struck out an Aggie.
The Rambelles improve to 13-1 on the season and 4-0 in LSC play. They are on the road next weekend to take on Texas Woman's and No. 1 UT Tyler.
