Action began in the top of the third inning when a single from

Justin Harris to hit a three run home run to take a quick 3-0 lead. The Eagles quickly equalized with a three-run home run of their own in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game.
Between the top of the fourth and fifth innings, the Blue and Gold managed to score a combined four runs as three doubles from

Chase Pendley and Wilhoite scored two in the fourth and a two-RBI single from
Lane Hutchinson finished things off in the fifth.
After a RBI ground out in the bottom of the fifth,

The senior right-hander allowed five runs off seven hits and two walks while collecting five strikeouts on the way to his third win of the season and rising to a 3-0 record in his first four starts.
Both teams traded a run each in the seventh inning before a quiet eighth brought the 8-5 game to the top of the ninth, when Valasek and Hutchinson hit back-to-back home runs to increase the lead to five runs.
Jude Cook came on to close the game in the ensuing half inning when a single and an error put runners aboard for the Eagles second three-run home run of the ballgame to cut the lead down to two runs before Cook forced a ground out to collect his first save of the 2025 campaign.
