SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Northeastern Oklahoma Friday afternoon at the ASU Tennis Complex.
The Belles improve to 3-0 with the win.
The freshmen pairing of
Benedetta Raggiotti and
Margaux Rene would defeat Sofia Kotliarova and Annika Kleinhans 6-4 to start the day for the Rambelles. The No. 3 pairing of
Eva Schwartz and
Avery Durham defeated Tegan Heaton and Adel Ismagulova 6-3 to claim the doubles point for the Rambelles.
Jessica Li and
Mary-June Quinn defeated Lucia Bontempo and Camila De Michele defeated the Riverhawks 7-5 to sweep the doubles matches for the Rambelles.
Avery Durham would play in her first singles match of the year on line six. She defeated Barbora Havolva 6-0, 6-1 to claim the first singles point for the Rambelles.
Margaux Rene would continue her run of form as a singles competitor, winning 6-3, 6-0, to record her third consecutive victory and giving the Rambelles a 3-0 lead over the Riverhawks.
Ivet Stancheva clinched the match for the Rambelles as she moved her undefeated streak to nine matches in a row defeating Annika Kleinhans 6-4, 6-3.
The Riverhawks claimed their only point of the contest winning 2-6, 7-6, and winning it on the tiebreaker 10-6.
Eva Schwartz defeated Adel Ismagulova 6-4, 6-3 to give the Rambelles a 5-1 lead with one match remaining.
Elise Gillis clinched the 6-1 victory as she would get the best of Lucia Bontempo 6-4, 4-6, and winning it on a tie breaker 10-8.
