PLANO, Texas – The Angelo State women's tennis team defeated Southern Arkansas 5-2 at the Colin County Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.
 
With the victory the Belles improved to 8-0 heading into conference action. '
 
The double pairing of Roksana Kokocha and Inna Serpukhova defeated Jessica Li and Mary-june Quinn 6-2.  Maria Fican and Amelie Gindl defeated the freshman pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti 6-2 to give the Muleriders the early 1-0 advantage in the match.
 
Avery Durham continued her impressive run of form from line six as she defeated Roksana Kokocha 6-0, 6-1 to tie the match early on 1-1.
 
Josie Holderbach defeated Eva Schwartz 6-1, 6-0 to give Southern Arkansas the 2-1 lead.
 
Benedetta Raggiotti defeated Ifigeneia Kafka 7-5, 6-4 to tie the match once again 2-2. 
 
Ivet Stancheva gave the Rambelles a 3-2 lead after defeating Camila Corrales 7-5, 6-4.
 
Margaux Rene would extend her undefeated streak to start her collegiate career as she defeated Amile Gindl 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Rambelles.
 
Jessia Li would go on to extend the Rambelles lead to 5-2 as she defeated Maria Fiacan 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a three-set thriller.
