SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State softball team is home for the only time in March this weekend as they host Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico to open West Division competition. The Rambelles and the Mustangs' doubleheader, originally scheduled for Friday, has been pushed back to Saturday due to forecasted wind gusts in San Angelo.
Sunday's doubleheader with the Greyhounds has been pushed back an hour, starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Rambelles went 3-1, winning their final three games after dropping the weekend's first game. The Rambelles scored 34 runs in their four games, their most in a four-game stretch this season.
RAMBELLES RANKED NO. 4
The Rambelles are ranked fourth in the latest version of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, their third-straight week occupying the fourth spot. The Rambelles are in the nation's top ten for the first time since the 2022 season and are in the top five for the first time since the beginning of the 2021 season.
TROTTER NAMED HITTER OF THE WEEK
Tatiana Trotter went 8-for-13 from the plate this weekend, batting .615 with a 1.538 slugging percentage and a .706 on-base percentage; five of her eight hits went for extra bases. She hit a grand slam against St. Mary's and had her first multi-home run game against St. Edward's on Sunday.

Senior pitcher
Cheyenne Floyd continues to put her name all over the career record book at Angelo State. The senior is tied for second in program history in career ERA (1.98) and has the best mark in opponent batting average (.200). Her 349 strikeouts for the Blue and Gold are fifth all-time; she sits ten back of tying Chelsea Nelson for fourth all-time in program history. Her seven shutouts are tied for ninth in program history.
SCOTT CLOSES IN ON 1K CAREER WINS
Head coach
Travis Scott is closing in on 1,000 career wins. He currently sits on 994 career wins. He is seventh among all Division II coaches in wins and 15th in winning percentage. He is 23rd among all coaches across all three divisions in wins. He won his first 101 games at Southeastern Oklahoma before winning the following 893 wins at the helm of the Rambelles softball program.
