Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Rambelles Ranked 18th in the ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its Division II rankings. The Angelo State women's tennis team is ranked 18th in the national rankings, down from 12th last week. 
 
Heading into the weekend Margaux Rene has a 10-3 overall record and is ranked 44th in this week's singles rankings. Rene defeated Amelie Gindl of Southern Arkansas 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 for her first win against a ranked opponent. Gindl was sixth in the nation at the time of the match. Rene recorded her second win against a ranked opponent when she defeated the 75th-ranked singles player Jessica Bohnert, 6-0, 6-2.
 
The pairing of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz are currently ranked 12th in the doubles rankings after starting the season 7-2 in doubles play.
