Silver City, N.M - The Angelo State women's tennis team got back on track as they defeated Western New Mexico 7-0 Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Belles improve to 14-8 overall and 3-6 in Lone Star Conference action.
In doubles play
Avery Durham and
Eva Schwartz defeated Ana Montero Villegas and Caini Wang 6-1 to win the first doubles match of the contest. The pairing of
Benedetta Raggiotti and
Margaux Rene defeated Andreea Arnautu and Lucia Carmena 6-1 to claim the doubles point for the Rambelles.
The Mustangs only have four active players so
Ivet Stancheva and
Mary-June Quinn matches would be fortified by the Mustangs giving the Rambelles a 3-0 lead before singles action got underway.
Avery Durham clinched the victory for the Rambelles as she defeated Caini Wang 6-1, 6-0 to give the Rambelles a 4-0 advantage.
Eva Schwartz defeated Anna Montero-Villegas 6-0, 6-2 to give the Rambelles an 5-0 advantage.
Margaux Rene would once again get written in at No. 1 singles and she would answer the call defeating Andreaa Amautu 6-1, 6-1 to give the Rambelles a 6-0 advantage.
Bendetta Raggiotti would get back in the win column as she defeated Lucia Carmena 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the sweep for the Rambelles.
