SAN ANGELO, Texas – A season-high, five errors, and ten runners left on base cost the No. 1 Angelo State baseball team as they fall to No. 24 St. Edward's by a final score of 8-2 on Sunday afternoon at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium.
With the loss, the Rams 12-game winning streak is snapped as they fall to 30-7 (28-7) while the Hilltoppers jump to 28-13 (27-12).
The Rams scored first when
Chase Pendley reached base on a fielder's choice and later stole second before
Weston Valasek doubled to left-center field. The Hilltoppers responded in the top of the third when they strung together a walk and a bunt single before a homer gave StEU its first lead of the game. The Blue and Gold answered in the ensuing half inning when Pendley scored on a passed ball to make it a 3-2 game.
St. Edward's doubled their score in the top of the sixth, taking advantage of two errors and a walk to score three runs off Rams' starter
Alizaeh Gutierrez and reliever
Luke Olson.

In the top of the ninth, a single and a fielding error put runners aboard for a two-RBI double to left-center field which brought the game to its final score as the Rams got set down in order in the final three innings to end the ballgame.
The Rams will look to secure the series win tomorrow, Apr. 7 with the first pitch at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium scheduled for 1 p.m.
