WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team fell to Midwestern State 5-2 Sunday afternoon inside of the MSU Tennis Center.
Rambelles fall to 12-4 overall and 1-3 in conference action.
Sarah Mazaraki and Sydney Williams defeated Jessica Li and Ivet Stancheva 6-4 in the first doubles match. The 20th-ranked doubles team Jessica Binzari and Anda Ghinga defeated the 13th-ranked doubles team Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz 6-4 to claim the doubles point for the Mustangs. Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti would defeat Camila Garcia and Hannah Yip 7-5 to give momentum to the Rambelles heading into singles play.
The No. 24 ranked singles player Sofia Giraldo defeated Benedetta Raggiotti 6-1, 6-4 to give the Mustangs an early 2-0 advantage.
The 56th ranked singles player Margaux Rene would get the Rambelles on the score sheet as she would defeat Hannah Yip 7-5, 6-1 to make it 2-1 in favor of the Mustangs.
Anda Ghinga defeated Jessica Li 6-1, 6-3 to claim the third point for the Mustangs.
Eva Schwartz would pull out a three-set thriller defeating Jessica Binzari 0-6, 6-2, 6-1 to record her highest-ranked win of her career in singles play and making the score 3-2.
Camila Garica claimed the victory for the Rambelles defeating Avery Durham 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to give the Mustangs a 4-2 advantage.
Aleesia Dolce would give the Mustangs a 5-2 victory after defeating Ivet Stancheva 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in a three-set thriller.
