Rambelles Conclude Play at ITA South Central Regionals

Tyler, Texas - The Rambelles conclude their time at the ITA South Central Regionals with Margaux Rene making it to the finals of the tournament in singles play. 
 
Singles: 
Jade Bestagno started off singles play for the Rambelles as she took on Sopia Crosby from the University of Texas Permian-Basin. Bestagno got the best of Crosby, defeating her 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the Round of 32. In the Round of 32, Bestagno fell to the number one-seeded Yona Bancarel of UT Tyler 0-6, 2-6
 
Sasa Felixova defeated Aitana Moreno Villa from Lubbock Christian 6-2 in straight sets in the Round of 64. Felixova would square off against Hailey Zhang of UT Tyler in the Round of 32, where she fell 6(6)-7(8), 6-0, (2-10). 
 
Anastasia Melnikova squared off against Maria Antonio Ortega from UT Tyler, getting the best of her 6-1, 6-4 in the Round of 64. Melnikova advanced to the Round of 32, where she was paired against the eighth-seeded Katherine Robinson from UT Dallas. Melnikova would pull the upset, defeating Robinson 6-3, 6-2. In the Round of 16, Melnikova's run would fall short when she faced off against Sophia Rashid out of UT Permian Basin, defeating Melnikova 6-4 in straight sets. 
 
Mary-June Quinn fell in the Round of 64 when she faced off against the sixth-seeded Guadalupe Tocci from Texas A&M - Kingsville 2-6, 1-6. Quinn would advance to the Consolation Bracket, where she defeated Alyssa Glasgow of UTPB 6-0, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals. However, she would ultimately fall short to Kristel Jativa of Lubbock Christian 2-6,3-6 
 
In the Round of 64, Benedetta Raggiotti was paired up with Dinethya Dharmaratne, where Raggiotti got the best of her, defeating her 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the Round of 32. In the Round of 32, Raggiotti faced off against Alessia Terlizzi, the ninth-seeded player in the tournament. Raggiotti would fall 1-6, 2-6. 
 
Margaux Rene would be the third seed in the ITA South Central Regional. Rene would be squared off with Luisa Moraes out of UT Tyler in the Round of 64, defeating her 6-3, 6-0. In the Round of 32, Margaux Rene defeated Nil Kalkavan 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the Round of 16. In the Round of 16, Rene defeated Oshini Herath out of Lubbock Christian 7-5, 6-1. In the Quarterfinals, Rene took on Alessia Terlizzi out of Saint Mary's, defeating her 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the semifinals, where she would take on Yona Bancarel, the number one player in the tournament. Rene pulled the upset, defeating Bancarel 6-2 in straight sets to advance to the finals of the South-Central Regionals. In the final, Rene's run would fall just short as she fell to Selin Sepken out of Midwestern state 0-6, 7-5.
 
Anna Waché faced off against Reika Nagai out of UT Dallas 6-0, 3-6, 6-10. Waché would fall into the Consolation Bracket, where she faced off against Sarah Wooten out of Saint Mary's and bested her in a three-set thriller 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Consolation Bracket. She would fall to Kristel Jativa 6-4 in straight sets. 





DOUBLES: 
The pairing of Mary June-Quinn and Anna Waché would fall short to the sixth-seeded pairing of Selina WU and Suryanshi Suryanshi out of St. Mary's 6-8.
 
Benedetta Raggiotti and Anastasia Melnikova faced off against AnaMaria Zoric and Oshini Hearth, falling 1-8.
 
Sasa Felixova and Margaux Rene would be paired together for the first time, and they would end up defeating Kendall Curley and Grecia Idrongo out of UT Dallas 8-5, advancing them to the Round of 16.  Felixova and Rene would face off against Isabella Quintero and Jenna Goessel, who are the third seed in the tournament, pulling the upset 8-6 to advance to the Quarterfinals. In the Quarterfinals, Felixova and Rene would defeat the fifth-seeded pairing, Hattie Berend and Selin Sepke, 8-5. Felixova and Rene's run would come to an end in the Semifinals when they would fall to the eighth-seeded Gia Posito, and Alessia Terlizzi, 8-2.

The Rambelles return to action on October 24th-26th when they particpate in the New Mexico State Invite.
