SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team swept its two opening matches of the 2025 season at the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational presented by All-American Chevrolet, defeating Arkansas-Monticello in front of over 3,000 fans before closing the day with a straight-set decision over Adams State.

With 3,123 people in attendance, most of whom were elementary-aged children from around the Concho Valley, the Belles defeated UAM 25-9, 25-8, 25-14 as the defending South Central regional champions hit .415 in their rout of the Blossoms.

Amelia Creacy led the Belles with ten kills, while Madi Parrish had seven, and Taryn Barnes and Julia Hopkins added six apiece. Creacy and Parrish did not make an error in 15 attempts each.

Gabi Ashcraft assisted 14 times, followed by Madison Scrivner's 13. Ashcraft and Ireland Ferguson each led the squad with a pair of aces, and Ferguson paced the Belles with 12 digs.

The Belles carried their hot hitting into their nightcap, hitting .377 as they defeated Adams State 25-13, 26-24, and 25-23.

Parrish led the Belles with 12 kills while fellow junior Alli Kirkpatrick added a career-high ten kills on a .600 hitting percentage.

Scrivner assisted 22 times and recorded four aces, including two in a row in set three, which gave the Belles a 19-18 lead after they had trailed for most of the set.
