Eleanor Lock Embraces Opportunity with Peru Women's National Team

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State women's soccer sophomore midfielder Eleanor  Lock is embracing a special milestone in her soccer career after receiving the opportunity to represent Peru's Women's National Team for the first time.

Lock has Peruvian roots through her father, Lock is eager to make the most of her experience with La Bicolor, as the Peruvian national team is known. The call-up represents the fulfillment of a childhood dream and an opportunity to showcase her abilities on the international stage.

Lock is in her second year as part of the Angelo State Women's Soccer team , where she serves as a defensive midfielder. As a sophomore with the Rambelles, she continues to develop her skills and gain valuable experience at the collegiate level. She also recently scored her first goal against CSU Pueblo on August 29th, marking another exciting milestone in her soccer journey.

"My dad is Peruvian, I'm from the United States, I play at Angelo State University, and I play as a defensive midfielder. I'm really excited to be here. It's been a dream of mine since I was little," Lock said.

Throughout her first days with the Peruvian national team, Lock has enjoyed the opportunity to train alongside talented players while experiencing the highest level of competition within the squad. She recognizes the importance of hard work, determination, and consistency as she competes for a place on the team.

"I've had a great time. The level is quite high, and I'll have to work hard to earn my place among these players," Lock said.

For Lock, representing Peru is more than an opportunity to compete at the highest level. It is a chance to honor her family heritage, continue growing as a player, and pursue a dream she has carried since childhood.

As she balances her collegiate career at Angelo State with her international ambitions, Lock remains focused on making the most of every opportunity and continuing to build her future in the game.
