No. 13 Rambelles Cap Perfect Weekend with Emphatic Win over Chadron State

Conroe, Texas – The Angelo State softball team ends its opening weekend with a 5-0 record after defeating Chadron State 14-0 in a five-inning run-rule on Sunday afternoon at the Scrapyard Sports Complex.

A double-steal by the Rambelles' first two hitters, Kylie Forney and Karli Manney, saw Forney steal home for the first run.

A Tatiana Trotter double and an Abby Brand sacrifice fly plated two more runs before freshman Zoey Sifuentes hit a two-run home run, the first of her collegiate career.

Ashleigh Dendas' single and an Eagle error in the second inning scored two runs, expanding the lead to 7-0.

The third inning saw Forney and Trotter produce RBI singles to make it 9-0.

The Rambelles struck for five runs in the fourth, courtesy of an RBI double from Zoey Sifuentes, a two-RBI single by Tannis Brewer, and a Trotter triple that pushed across two runs.

Addy Ewing picked up her first win at Angelo State, throwing four shutout innings where she allowed one hit and one walk while recording four strikeouts. Sara Paniagua threw the final inning in relief, allowing a hit and notching a strikeout.

The Rambelles are 5-0 and are home next weekend to host the George and Ola McCorkle Challenge.
