Winter Park, Fla. – The Angelo State softball team dropped their final two games in Florida, falling to Rollins 10-2 in a six-inning run-rule before the Tars claimed a 7-5 win over the Rambelles in game two at MLK Park this afternoon.
Larryn Feuge's solo home run in the second and an RBI groundout in the fourth inning were the only runs the Rambelles scratched across in game one as the hosts scored in four out of six innings, and the Rambelles' defense committed three errors, as the Tars gave the Rambelles their second run-rule loss of the weekend.
After the Tars opened the scoring,
Taylor Haywood's RBI single tied the game up before the hosts responded with a four-spot in the bottom of the frame.
A
Zoey Sifuentes two-run home run in the following inning made it 5-3, but the Tars responded with a pair of runs of their own.
An Sifuentes RBI groundout and a pitch that hit
Tatiana Trotter with the bases loaded represented the Rambelles' final two runs.
The Rambelles, as in game one, committed three defensive errors in game two, as only four of the Tars' seven runs were earned.
The Rambelles end the Florida trip with an 11-4 overall record. They open LSC play this week as they travel to Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian.
