SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team ended its home schedule on a high note with an 80-67 win over Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
The Rams honored their seniors –
Jesaiah McWright,
Jordan Crawford, and manager Riley Soto – in the pregame festivities.
The Rams shot 49.2 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from three; the Rams' defense forced the Mustangs into 15 turnovers and held them to 4-of-19 from three-point range.
Jhordan Ryan was dominant inside, recording a 24-point, 12-rebound double-double. The Montserratian's season-high in points came on ten of his 13 field goal attempts. Ryan also rejected three shots on defense.
Davon Scott scored 15 points in 16 minutes off the bench, all from made threes. Scott also grabbed five rebounds.
Crawford scored ten points and assisted six times, while
Jabbari Barry had eight points and three steals.
Zyon Little and McWright had six points each – Little assisted five times and grabbed four rebounds, while McWright assisted six times. The Rams recorded 25 assists on 30 made field goals.
The Rams improve to 16-13 on the season and 7-11 in LSC play. Today's win guarantees the Rams will finish the season with a winning record, their fourth in a row under head coach
Vinay Patel.
The Rams close the season on the road next week against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
