Lubbock, Texas – The Angelo State softball team claimed two more conference wins on Sunday, defeating Lubbock Christian 9-3 and 4-3 at Maner Park.
Kylie Forney led off the ballgame with an opposite-field home run to begin the scoring.
The Rambelles scored twice in the third inning off an LCU error and a
Zoey Sifuentes RBI single to make it 3-0.
ASU scored five runs the following inning, doing so on a Forney two-RBI double, a Manney RBI groundout, a double steal that scored a run, and an LCU error.
The Lady Chaps would strike for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to stave off a run-rule win, but the Rambelles would score the final run on an
Ashleigh Dendas solo home run in the seventh inning.
Dendas would collect the win in the circle, throwing a complete game. The win is her seventh of the season.
Forney led game two off with a double before scoring on a Sifuentes single.
LCU would score once in the first and twice in the second to take a 3-1 lead, which they held until the top of the seventh inning.
Tatiana Trotter, a Lubbock native, led off the inning by being hit by a pitch, and Sifuentes would tie the game with a two-run home run, her fourth of the season.
Dendas, the following batter, would hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for the second-straight game to put ASU ahead 4-3.
Addy Ewing started game two, only throwing 1.2 innings before being replaced by
Maddison Ruiz, who threw the final 5.1 innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out four as she picked up her third win in 2026.
The Rambelles are 15-4 on the season and 4-0 in LSC play; they are the last undefeated team in conference play. The Rambelles are home next weekend to host Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
