SAN ANTONIO – The Angelo State women's golf team finished tied for fifth following the conclusion of the Rattler Invitational being played at the Dominion Country Club.
The Rambelles finished with a team score of 920 (+56), tying with Arkansas Tech, the 34
th-ranked team in the country. All four teams ahead of the Rambelles in the standings are ranked in the nation's top 30, and the Rambelles finished ahead of 11 teams, seven of whom are LSC opponents.
The team's 54-hole score is the second-best of the season and the seventh-best in program history.
As a team, the Rambelles shot one under on par fives as they recorded their third top-five tournament finish this season.
Beth Norton and
Christine Huse paced the Rambelles, tying for 20
th place with cumulative scores of 230 (+14). The duo beat four individually ranked players. Huse recorded the best par-three scoring in the field, shooting two-under par on those holes.
Kelsey Kline and
Mia Clarke tied for 41
st with a 235 (+19). Kline ended on a high note with a 76, her personal best of the three rounds.
Cailtin Vanderkruk finished with 237 (+21); her second round 71 (-1) was tied for the third-best round in the entire field.
Competing as an individual,
Brinley Patterson carded a 258; she shaved six strokes off from the second to the third round.
The Rambelles are back in action on March 16-17 to compete at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by DBU in Carmel, California.
