SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team starts its month-long road as trip as they travel to Arlington, Texas, and Plano, Texas to take on Texas Wesleyan and Southern Arkansas.

Rene is coming off a season in which she won Freshman of the Year in the Lone Star Conference after recording a 17-5 record, the best on the team.

The new doubles pairing of
Sasa Felixova and Rene is ranked 22nd in the ITA Tennis Association rankings.Â

The Belles returned two players from last year's roster, Sophomores
Benedetta Raggiotti and
Margaux Rene Raggiotti was 14-7 in singles play last year.Â

The Belles bring five freshmen and one sophomore into the fold:
Danaiya Amangazhiyeva from Almaty, Kazakhstan,
Jade Bestagno from Sainte Maxime, France,
Sasa Felixova from Sala, Slovakia,
Anastasiia Melnikova from Moscow, Russia, Anna Waché from Paris, France, and
Vasilissa Kupriianova, from Ryazan, Russia, a North Georgia Transfer.

In the first match of the year for the Rambelles, they defeated Weatherford College 6-1. The Belles won the doubles point
Benedetta Raggiotti and Anna Waché won 6-0. The freshman pairing of Felixova and Melinkova clinched the doubles point as they won 6-1.

Melnikova clinched the win after defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-1 to give the Rambelles their first victory of the year.

Jade Bestagno would fall 5-7, 6-2, 5-10Â in her first collegiate match.
