SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team picked up a pair of shutout wins at day two of the George and Ola McCorkle Challenge presented by West Texas Steel, defeating Missouri Western 6-0 and Ouachita Baptist 9-0 in a five-inning run-rule.
Kylie Forney kicked off game one against the Griffons by reaching on an error before scoring on a
Tatiana Trotter double.
With the bases loaded,
Abby Brand singled, driving in a pair of runs to push the advantage to three.
Forney led off the next inning with an infield single before scoring on a Trotter two-run home run.
Back-to-back doubles by
Zoey Sifuentes and
Ashleigh Dendas scored the final run in the bottom of the sixth.
Dendas picked up the win in the circle, throwing 5.1 shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out seven Griffons.
Addy Ewing recorded the final five outs, recording two strikeouts.
The Rambelles struck for eight runs in the second inning of their game against Ouachita Baptist.

Taylor Haywood, whose RBI single plated the first run of the game.
Kamryn Loeffler's sacrifice fly doubled the lead, and
Karli Manney's single pushed across another run.
The Tigers dropped a fly ball, which scored a run, and Dendas' single scored two runs.
Feuge finished off the scoring with an RBI double that scored two runs.
A ground-rule double by Sifuentes plated the ninth and final run the following inning.
Maddison Ruiz picked up the win, throwing three shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out five Tigers.
Bri Waters and
Sara Paniagua threw an inning in relief each, striking out two and one batter, respectively.
The Rambelles are 8-1 on the season; they close out the 2026 George and Ola McCorkle Challenge presented by West Texas Steel.
