SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team finished the 2026 George and Ola McCorkle Challenge presented by West Texas Steel in emphatic fashion, defeating LSC rivals Texas A&M International 7-0 in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon at Mayer Softball Field.
In the third inning,
Larryn Feuge kicked off the scoring with a moonshot down the left field line for the freshman's first collegiate home run.
With two outs and two runners in scoring position,
Tatiana Trotter singled through the left side to plate a pair of runs.
Kamryn Loeffler led the fifth inning off by drawing a four-pitch walk; the Mason product subsequently stole second and scored on a
Kylie Forney double.
Ashleigh Dendas came to bat with the bases loaded later in the frame, delivering a double to the right center, which scored two runs.
Abby Brand's sacrifice fly gave the Rambelles a seven-run advantage.
In the circle,
Addy Ewing and
Bri Waters combined to throw a one-hitter. Ewing started the game, allowing one hit and striking out four in five innings before Waters closed the game with two perfect innings in relief.
Across the weekend, the Rambelles only allowed three runs across five games, pitching three consecutive shutouts to close the weekend. The Rambelles are 9-1 on the season and are back in action next weekend for a Florida road trip.
