The Rambelles Open Lone Star Conference Play Against Texas A&M - Kingsville

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State Women's Tennis team hits the road again as they start conference play against Texas A&M - Kingsville on Friday at 11:00 a.m. 
 
Heading into the match, the Rambelles are 10-0.

Head Coach Jason Potthoff has started his fourth season strong as the Rambelles have gotten off to a 10-0 start after recording a 15-7 record last season. 
 
The Belles return one of the top-ranked players in the nation, Sophomore Margaux Rene from Soisy-Sur-Seine, France, who is currently ranked 12th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association computerized ratings. 
 
Rene is coming off a season in which she won Freshman of the Year in the Lone Star Conference after recording a 15-7 record, the best on the team.
 
Vasilissa Kupriianova is No. 26 in the singles rankings, and Danaiya Amangazhiyeva is No. 41 in the singles rankings. The pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti is ranked 35th in the nation. The pairing of Margaux Rene and Sasa Felixova are ranked 38th in the nation. The team is 44th in the nation.
 
The Belles returned two players from last year's roster, Sophomores Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene. Raggiotti was 14-7 in singles play last year. 
 
The Belles bring five freshmen and one sophomore into the fold: Danaiya Amangazhiyeva from Almaty, Kazakhstan, Jade Bestagno from Saint Maxime, France, and Sasa Felixova from Sala, Slovakia, Anastasiia Melnikova from Moscow, Russia, Anna Waché from Paris, France, and Vasilissa Kupriianova, from Ryazan, Russia, a North Georgia transfer. 
 
Rene was the Singles Player of the Week in Week Two. Rene and Raggiotti were honored as the Doubles Team of the Week in Week Two.
 
Rene and Felixova lead the team with nine victories in singles play. Danaiya Amangazhiyeva and Benedetta Raggiotti are undefeated in singles play. Danaiya Amangazhiyeva is 8-0 in singles play, Benedetta Raggiotti is 9-0. The Belles are 49-8 overall in singles play.
 
The pairing of Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene is 8-1 overall, leading the team in victories in doubles play. Raggiotti has a 9-1 overall record in doubles play. The Belles are 23-6 overall in doubles play. 
 
Kingsville has a 4-2 overall record, losing its last matchup to Central Oklahoma 4-3. Annika Anderson Gomez leads the team with a 6-0 record in singles. 
 
Andrea Landaeta leads the team with four wins in doubles play. 
 
The Rambelles are 8-2 overall against Kingsville. ASU won the last matchup 5-2 on Mar.7th, 2025.
