Rambelles Tie Program Record With 12-0 Start After Defeating Emporia State 7-0

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - The Rambelles defeated Emporia State 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon. With the victory, the Rambelles tied the program record with a 12-0 start to the season. 
 
The pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti defeated Carla Paul Piquer and Yuliya Klimova 6-2 to open the scoring for the Rambelles in doubles play. The new pairing of Danaiya Amangazhiyeva and Vasilissa Kupriianova would defeat Sheriden Wichman and Giovanna Ferreira 6-2 to clinch the doubles point for the Rambelles. Sasa Felixova and Jade Bestagno would be down 4-3 to Ana Fatjo Coll and Guilia Russu when the match got called for the match to move into the singles portion. 
 
Anna Waché opened the scoring for the Rambelles in singles play as she defeated Giulia Russu 6-2, 6-0 to give the Rambelles a 2-0 advantage. 
 
Danaiya Amangazhiyeva defeated Carla Paul Piquer 6-2 in straight sets to extend her undefeated streak to 10 consecutive matches and give the Rambelles a 3-0 advantage.
 
Sasa Felixova would defeat Erin Cahill 6-0, 6-4  to clinch the victory for the Rambelles, giving the Belles a 4-0 lead. 
 
Margaux Rene, the 12th-ranked player in the nation, defeated Giovanna Ferreira 7-6(7-2), 6-2 to give the Rambelles a 5-0 lead. 
 
Benedetta Raggiotti would continue her dominant start as she would defeat Sheriden Wichman in a three-set thriller, 7-5, 4-6, 10-3, to extend her unbeaten streak to 11 matches in a row and to give the Rambelles a 6-0 lead. 
 
Vasilissa Kupriianova would defeat Yuliya Kilmova 7-6(7-5) 6-3 to give the Rambelles a 7-0 sweep and the 12th consecutive win, tying a school record for the best start in program history.
 
The Belles will be back in action on March. 19th when they take on Shippensburg.
