No. 22 Rambelles Travel to Take on St. Mary's

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State Women's Tennis team looks to continue it's dominant start as they take on St. Mary's on Monday, April. 6th at 2:00 p.m.

Head Coach Jason Potthoff is currently in his fourth season. Potthoff has led the Rambelles to a 16-0 start, the best start in the program's history. 
 
The Belles have two players ranked in the top 25 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association computerized rankings. Vasilissa Kupriianova, from Ryazan, Russia, is ranked 21st in the nation. Margaux Rene from Soisy-Sur-Sine, France is currently ranked 24th in the nation.
 
The team is ranked 22nd in the nation, while the pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti is ranked 20th in the nation in doubles play. 
 
The Belles bring five freshmen and one sophomore into the fold: Danaiya Amangazhiyeva from Almaty, Kazakhstan, Jade Bestagno from Saint Maxime, France, and Sasa Felixova from Sala, Slovakia, Anastasiia Melnikova from Moscow, Russia, and Anna Wache from Paris, France, and Vasillissa Kupriianova from Ryazan, Russia, A North Georgia Transfer.
 
Rene was the Lone Star Conference Singles Player of the Week in Week Two. Rene and Raggiotti were honored as the Doubles Team of the Week in Week Two. Vasilissa Kupriianova was honored as the LSC Singles Player of the Week for Week 7. The new pairing of Vasilissa Kupriianova and Danaiya Amangazhiyeva were named the LSC Doubles Team of the Week for Week Seven. Benedetta Raggiotti was named the LSC Singles Player of the Week for Week 8.
 
Sasa Felixova and Benedetta Raggiotti are tied for the team lead with 14 singles wins. Raggiotti is undefeated at 14-0, while Sasa Felixova is 14-1. The Belles are 79-14 overall in singles play. 
 
The Pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti led the team with 11 wins in doubles play. The Belles are 32-14 overall in doubles play.
 
The Rattlers are 11-6 overall and 4-0 in conference action, winning their last contest 4-3 against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
Selina Wu and Gia Positio are tied for the team lead with 14 wins in singles play. The Rattlers are 68-30 overall in singles play. The Pairing of Gia Posito and Alessia Terlizzi leads the team with seven wins in doubles play. The Rattlers are 29-18 as a team overall in doubles. 
 
The Rambelles have played the Rattlers ten times and have a 2-8 overall record. The Rambelles lost the last matchup 4-3 on April. 19th, 2025.
