Tempe, Arizona - Freshman Danaiya Amangazhiyeva was named the South-Central Region Rookie of the Year on Tuesday morning. 
 
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2026 ITA Division II Women's Regional Award recipients. Every year, the ITA recognizes coaches and student-athletes for their excellence both on the court and in their communities throughout the season. 
 
Amangazhiyeva recorded a 19-3 overall record with a 7-0 record at line two singles and a 12-3 record at line three singles. Amangazhiyeva was third on the team in wins, recording 19 wins.
 
Amangazhiyeva and her doubles partner, Vasilissa Kupriianova, were named the Lone Star Conference doubles team for Week Seven.
 
Amangazhiyeva had a 16-9 overall record in doubles play. 
 
Freshman Danaiya Amangazhiyeva from Almaty, Kazakhstan, was named to the Lone Star Conference Honorable Mentions All-Singles team.
