SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team makes its return to the NCAA postseason as they travel to Wichita Falls to take on Midwestern State in the first round of the NCAA DII South Central Regional on Friday, May. 8th at 1 p.m


The Belles are 22-3 on the season and are coming off a loss in the semifinals to UT Tyler. 
 
The Mustangs and Belles have met eight times previously, with the Belles winning 4-3 in the earlier season matchup.
 
This spring, Midwestern State ended up winning the conference championship after recording an 18-6 overall record.
 
The Belles have been awarded many accolades during the season as Margaux Rene was the Lone Star Conference Singles Player of the Week in Week Two.  Vasilissa Kupriianova was honored as the LSC Singles Player of the Week for Week 7. The new pairing of Vasilissa Kuprrianova and Danaiya Amangazhiyeva was also named the LSC Doubles Team of the Week for Week Seven, and Benedetta Raggiotti was named the LSC Singles Player of the Week for Week Eight. Vasilissa Kupriianova was named the LSC Singles Player of the Week for Week Nine. 
 
Sasa Felixova leads the team in wins with a 22-2 overall record in singles play, Benedetta is 21-2 overall, and Danaiya Amangazhiyeva is 19-2 overall. The Belles are 119-27 overall in singles play. 
 
The pairing of Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene have an 15-8 overall record. The Belles are 47-25 overall in doubles play. 


Going into the match, Selin Sepken is ranked eighth in the ITA singles rankings with an 18-2 overall record. The mustangs have Emilia Gyorgy ranked 60th in the nation after recording an 18-6 singles record.
 
Vasilissa Kupriianova is ranked 32nd in the ITA rankings after recording an 11-3 record. 
 
Margaux Rene is 37th heading into the regional with an overall 13-8 record. 
 
The Mustangs have two pairings ranked in the top 25. Selin Sepken and Emila Gyorgy are ranked 10th in the nation with an 18-6 doubles record. The pairing of Camila Garica Morales and Emila Gyorgy are ranked 21. 
 
The Belles have one pairing ranked in doubles play, and that would be the pairing of Margaux Rene and Benedetta Raggiotti, who finished the year with a 15-8 record during the regular season.
 
This is the Belles' sixth appearance at the NCAA South Central Regional. They are 2-4 all-time in the regional, defeating Cameron 4-2 in 2024.
