Greenwood, Ind. – The Angelo State track and field team saw nine of their athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this morning.

Kobi Valchar – join five Rambelles -
Ekaterina Fedotova,
Abril Okon,
Kaylee Price,
Marie Schuler, and
Kamryn Williams on the team.
To qualify, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and carry a 3.50 GPA. Student-athletes must be ranked in the top 50 of their event regionally to be eligible.
Armstrong, a junior sprinter from Redman's Village, Barbados majoring in Business Management, recorded a pair of All-American finishes at the Division II Outdoor National Championships, crossing the line sixth in the 400 meters before taking home a national championship as a part of the 4x400m relay team.
Jaime Moreno, a junior javelin thrower from Guadalajara, Mexico majoring in Management, finished fifth overall at the National Championships, recording a personal best of 229-11 (70.08m).
Valchar, a junior thrower from Schulenberg, Texas majoring in Commercial Aviation, was a First Team All-LSC selection, scoring 16 points at the LSC Championships after finishing second in the hammer throw and third in the discus. He set a personal best in the hammer with a mark of 175-11 (53.63m).
Fedotova, a sophomore javelin thrower from Samara, Russia majoring in Communications, earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing 14
th at the National Championships. Fedotova finished third at the LSC Championships in the event.
Okon, a junior multi from Rafaela, Argentina majoring in Kinesiology, earned a pair of Second Team All-American awards in the heptathlon and the high jump at the National Championships. She was the LSC runner-up in the heptathlon, scoring a personal best 5,038 points.
Kaylee Price, a sophomore hurdler from Harper, Texas, majoring in Exercise Science, was a First Team All-American after crossing the line seventh in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 59.27 seconds.
Schuler, a senior thrower from Langenfeld, Germany, majoring in Business, finished her career as a First Team All-American, finishing eighth in the hammer throw. The two-time LSC Champion in the event is the only woman in conference history to break the 200-foot mark in the event, which Schuler has done three times.
Williams, a junior from Wall, Texas, majoring in Exercise Science, recorded a personal best in the hammer throw (185-2; 56.45m) as she picked up a Second Team All-American award. Williams also earned Second Team All-American honors during the indoor season, doing so in the weight throw.
Armstrong, Moreno, Okon, Price, Schuler, and Williams will move onto the Academic All-American ballot, which will be announced on July 14 (men) and July 15 (women).
