RICHARDSON, Texas – The Angelo State men's and women's cross-country teams were selected to finish 12th and 14th, respectively, in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Polls, as announced by the league this week.
The preseason polls were voted on by LSC head coaches and sports information directors.
The Rams received 106 points and were picked ahead of Eastern New Mexico and Sul Ross State.
The Rambelles collected 132 points and were selected ahead of UT Permian Basin and Sul Ross State.
In addition to the preseason polls, the conference recognized four Angelo State student-athletes as "Runners to Watch," with two selections from each program.
Juniors
Alex Hauck and
Morghen Vawter were selected to represent the Rams, while juniors
Chasity Benson and
Ashley Stratton earned the distinction for the Rambelles.
The cross country program will kick off the season on Friday, Sep. 4 when they travel to Lampasas, Texas to compete in the Floyd Farms Invitational.
