San Angelo, Texas - The Rambelles began the Mike Erwin era with a 1-1 draw as they welcomed in the MSU Denver Roadrunners to the LeGrand Soccer Complex.  

With the draw, the Rambelles moved to 0-0-1 on the season overall.  

The Rambelles saw eight freshmen play meaningful minutes, with four of them drawing the start in their first official collegiate match.  

In the first half, the Rambelles and Roadrunners were locked into a defensive standoff as they entered the half tied nil-nil. The Rambelles totaled five shots and two saves in the half.  

The second half saw the Rambelles get off to a hot start as freshman Juliana Garcia snuck a shot past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net to give the Belles the 1-0 lead.  

They held the lead for 27 minutes and 52 seconds before the Roadrunner's Grace Johnson put them on the board. 

The Belles did not record a shot for the remainder of the game.  

Claire Stoermer recorded three saves for the match in her first start of the season.  

Zanae Nylund recorded three shots in her first collegiate match.  

The Belles return to action this Saturday (Aug. 29) at 11 a.m. as they play host to the Colorado State Pueblo Thunderwolves. The Thunderwolves are coming off a 0-0 draw vs Sul Ross State on Thursday.
