ALAMOSA, Colo. – No. 14 Angelo State volleyball overcame an offensive slump to remain undefeated, defeating Adams State in four sets Tuesday evening at Plachy Hall.
Despite hitting .177 and committing 32 attack errors, the Belles out-hit the Grizzlies .177 to .118 while recording 11 blocks and 77 digs.
With the victory, Angelo State improves to 5-0 to begin the 2026 season and now turns its attention to the Colorado Premier Challenge this weekend.
For the third time this season,
Alli Kirkpatrick led the Belles in kills, recording 12 while hitting .360.
Julia Hopkins matched Kirkpatrick with 12 kills.
Sydney Thornton turned in an all-around performance, recording 11 kills on a .455 hitting percentage while adding four total blocks. Her 14 points accounted for led the team.
Gabi Ashcraft recorded her first double-double of the season, leading the Belles with 27 assists and 10 digs.
Olivia Pena followed with 13 assists and nine digs.
Madi Parrish added seven kills and 18 digs, while
Allie Duitsman contributed 12 digs.
The Belles return to action Friday, Sept. 4, when they begin play at the Colorado Premier Challenge, hosted by MSU Denver and Regis. Angelo State will face Bentley at 9 a.m. before taking on host MSU Denver at 7 p.m.
