GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Angelo State University women's golf team sits in eighth place following the opening round of the RJGA Shootout at the Golf Club of Estrella on Monday.

The Rambelles carded a team score of 17-over par in the opening round, closing the day ahead of Lone Star Conference foes Western New Mexico, Lubbock Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville in the 16-team field.

Ainsley Burns led the way individually for the Belles, carding a 3-over to sit tied for 24th.

Addison Barber followed closely behind, tying for 28th after shooting a 4-over. Barber also recorded four birdies, tying for the team lead in the opening round.

Caitlin Vanderkruk and Kelsey Kline are tied for 35th after each carding 5-over. Vanderkruk turned in a consistent round, while Kline matched Barber with four birdies.

Bao Nghi Than and Kara Knight rounded out the Rambelles' lineup, with both sitting tied for 47th after shooting 6-over.

The Rambelles will return to the course Tuesday for the final two rounds of the RJGA Shootout.
