AMARILLO, Texas – The Angelo State University women's golf team sits in 10th place following the opening two rounds of the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational Monday at La Paloma Country Club.
The Rambelles opened the tournament with a 29-over 313 in the morning round before improving by eight strokes in the afternoon, carding a 21-over 305 to finish the day at 50-over 618.
INDIVIDUAL PLAY
Bao Nghi "Maia" Than leads the Rambelles through two rounds, sitting tied for 17th at 5-over 147. Than opened with a 1-over 72 before carding a 4-over 75 in the second round.
Ainsley Burns is 30th at 10-over 152 after recording consecutive rounds of 76 (+5).
Kelsey Kline sits 46th at 17-over 159. After opening with an 83 (+12), Kline improved by seven strokes in the second round, firing a 5-over 76.
Brinley Patterson is 47th at 18-over 160 after rounds of 82 (+11) and 78 (+7).
Caitlin Vanderkruk is tied for 50th at 21-over 163, carding an 83 (+12) in the opening round and an 80 (+9) in the afternoon.
Competing as an individual,
Emma Cook is also tied for 50th at 21-over 163. Cook opened with an 80 (+9) before finishing the day with an 83 (+12).
The Rambelles will conclude the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational with the final round Tuesday. Weather permitting, play is scheduled to begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
