SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 7 Angelo State University volleyball team closed out its home stand in dominant fashion Tuesday night, sweeping Sul Ross State, 25-12, 25-13, 25-17, at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
With the victory, the Belles improve to 15-1 overall and 5-0 in Lone Star Conference play, marking the best start to a season since 2019. Angelo State also finished its three-match homestand with a perfect 3-0 record, while Sul Ross State falls to 0-15 overall and 0-5 in LSC play.
The Blue and Gold controlled the match from start to finish, outhitting the Lobos .324 to .101 while holding advantages in kills, 45-22, service aces, 8-3, blocks, 4-1, assists, 42-22, and digs, 48-41.
The Blue and Gold also received contributions from throughout its roster, with all 17 Belles who dressed seeing action in the match.
Leah Klueber led all players with 11 kills while hitting .421.
Madi Parrish followed with nine kills and a .368 attack percentage.

Gabi Ashcraft each recorded at least one kill for the Belles.
All four Angelo State setters saw action, with Pena leading the way with 18 assists. Ashcraft added nine assists, while
Madison Scrivner recorded six. Channelle Cancel added the match-clinching service ace.
Five different Belles recorded a service ace, with Pena, Ashcraft and Barnhill each recording two. Hopkins and Cancel added one apiece.
Allie Duitsman paced the Angelo State defense with 15 digs, while Parrish added 10.
Taryn Barnes contributed four digs.
The Belles now hit the road for a pair of LSC matches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Angelo State will face UT Dallas on Friday, Oct. 2, before taking on UT Tyler on Saturday, Oct. 3.
