THACKERVILLE, Okla. – The Angelo State University women's golf team is tied for seventh after the opening round of the WinStar Invitational at WinStar Scissortail Golf Course, carding a team score of 23-over on Sunday.
All nine golfers on the Rambelles' roster competed in the opening round, with
Ainsley Burns,
Ava Key and
Bao Nghi Than making their collegiate debuts for the Blue and Gold.
Caitlin Vanderkruk led the way for the Belles, tying for 14th after shooting a 74 (+2). Vanderkruk carded an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole during her opening round.
Kelsey Kline,
Kara Knight and Than are tied for 36th after each shooting a 79 (+7).
Emma Cook and Key rounded out the Rambelles' lineup, with each carding an 83 (+11).
Competing as individuals,
Addison Barber shot a 77 (+5), while Burns and
Brinley Patterson finished with scores of 80 (+8) and 81 (+9), respectively.
The Rambelles will return to the course Monday morning for the second round of the WinStar Invitational.
